Ear Training - Intervals Cheat Sheet

Try to remember intervals by identifying a song with each interval. If you are unsure of the songs that I'm referring to, please do a google search, ask me, or ask your parents to sing the songs (they'll probably know them!) 

Basic Intervals (Level 1-5)

Unison - same note..
Major 2nd - Rudolph the Reindeer, Yankee Doodle, Happy Birthday
Major 3rd - Oh When the Saints Go Marching In, Kumbaya
Perfect 4th - Here comes the Bride, We Wish you a merry Christmas
Perfect 5th - Twinkle Twinkle
Major 6th - “Dashing Through the Snow” Jingle Bells
Major 7th - Superman theme
Perfect 8th/octave - Somewhere over the rainbow, Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire

Advanced Intervals (Level 6+)


Minor 2nd - Jaws; White Christmas
